Booking My Services: If you are interested in reserving my services, I welcome the chance to learn more about your wedding needs. I offer clients the opportunity to meet with me in my studio to review their projects and timeline.  Once all the details are discussed, I will prepare a contract for you which outlines everything we discussed.

Deposit: Once a contract has been signed, I require a 50% deposit. Once the project is completed, the remaining balance is due at the time of pickup or before delivery. Projects under $125 require full amount up front.

Extra Envelopes: I ask that you provide me with  a minimum of 20% extra envelopes or cardstock. This allows enough extras for paper flaws, my mistakes, your mistakes and any changes or additions.

Scheduling: After you've decided to use my services, let me know as soon as possible since I'm often booked 2-3 months in advance. You are officially in my schedule book when a contract is signed and deposit has been made. If you have not entered into a contract and made a deposit, rates and quotes may change.

Turn Around Time: Generally a project is completed in 2-3 weeks, depending on the scope of the work. This allows adequate time to accommodate many clients' due dates within a common period. Seating components generally have a 1 week turn-time.

Rush Fee: If you need your job finished in less than my current turn-time and I'm able to schedule you in, a rush fee applies. I don't rush the actual work, but can often rearrange and add more hours to my schedule.

Errors: Believe it or not, I make mistakes. I do ask that you provide me with extra paper or envelopes in case that I do make mistakes, for any flaws in the paper or additions/changes you may make to the master list.

Address List: The address list that you give me at the start of the job should be typed in a legible font with names and addresses being listed as you would like them to appear on the envelope. Please do not type in all caps and please no abbreviations-- spell out all cities, states, street, roads, avenues, boulevards, lanes, courts, etc. *See below for sample.

Please also proofread your list. I do not correct for etiquette after the list has been provided to me. If an extraordinary amount of time is spent on "list maintenance" after I have received the list, a charge may be applied to your order.

Shipping: If you do not live in the Pittsburgh area or find it more convenient to ship , I generally prefer either UPS insured or Federal Express insured. Shipping to me and then picking up your finished job in person works well too. I do not hand-deliver.  All shipping costs are your responsibility.

Refunds: I do not give refunds.

What are your prices?
If you visit, "Rates" on the left side of the website, you will find a general price list for my services. Keep in mind, special orders, requests or custom pieces will have a different rate. Simply send me all the details and I will provide you with an estimate.

What are your payment & deposit options?

For completed projects that will be picked up in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, 50% will be due at the beginning of the project. For completed projects that will be mailed back to you, 100% plus the cost of shipping will be due at the beginning of the project.

I accept cash or check.

How many styles or fonts do you write?
I write several styles which can be viewed under "Styles". The most popular one requested by area brides is the traditional style. It is very easy to read and be can understood by all. However, I certainly can write other styles should you be looking for something different than what I offer.

Can I choose the layout of the envelope?
I offer brides the choice between a "left justified address" OR "staggered address". Examples under "Styles".

What sort of projects can you calligraphy?

I can write calligraphy on and for just about anything! Envelopes, Invitations, Placecards, Menu cards, Welcome Signs... the possibilities are endless.

What is your background in?

As a child, I was always interested in drawing and painting. As I entered high school, I focused heavily on drawing and printmaking.  During this time, I enrolled in several calligraphy classes and worked with several skilled artists.  In college, I studied fine arts with an emphasis in painting and drawing. I have since taught classes at local art centers and provide private tutoring sessions in various art making techniques.

After college graduation, I began working in the arts and continued creating calligraphy for private events and businesses. For the last ten years, I have been sharing my artwork and calligraphy skills with individuals from near and far.

What is "hand-ruling"?
I "hand-rule" many of my projects which means, I stencil out all the dimensions with pencil lines, then erase afterwards. It takes longer to complete projects but the finished piece is more accurate.

Where can I find sample images?
If you visit "Styles" on the left side of the website, you can browse thru my most recent projects.

Once you've completed your wedding list, I ask that you provide a typed address list to me at the time of envelope delivery. Be sure to check your list twice and make sure that someone else familiar with the names takes a careful look as well. To make it easy to follow, leaving little room for error, lay out your list in an orderly, column format-see above.
